Six of the best for Roar

BRISBANE Roar's bid to win a third consecutive A-League title has been given a huge boost.

Six high profile players, including club captain Matt Smith and international marquee player and Johnny Warren medallist Thomas Broich, yesterday put pen to paper on new deals to stay with the Queensland club.

Smith accepted a three-year deal, while Broich signed for four years.

Vice-captain Shane Stefanutto, three-time A-League Goalkeeper of the Year goalkeeper Michael Theo, Brazilian import Henrique and versatile defender Ivan Franjic are the other players to have signed.

The six players all played in the Roar's A-League grand final victories in 2011 and 2012.
