Smoked oysters after Tweed Heads fire

A SUSPICIOUS fire broke out at oyster sheds located at Birds Bay Dr, Tweed Heads last night.

No one was injured, but 80 oyster trays were destroyed in the fire which occurred about 8pm.

Fire fighters from Tweed Heads Fire Station were called to the scene.

"There was a fire at the oyster sheds at Terranora inlet last night," Tweed Heads station officer Steve Sharpe said.

"It does appear to be of suspicious nature.

"Two pumpers from Tweed Heads attended."

Officer Sharpe said the investigations into how the fire had started were continuing.
