Snags, leprechauns all in a day’s work for friends
THEY wear green and they are looking for a pot of gold.
No, they're not leprechauns or searchers looking for the end of a rainbow.
They are volunteers for Friends of the Pound.
They work hard every day to find homes for animals.
They take then in to their own homes and search for the golden people willing to save these little wretches from cruelty and starvation.
"Why wouldn't we," volunteer Pat Betts said.
Well "Paddy" Betts was out there on St Patrick's Day, dressed in green and giving her own time to cook snags on the barbie to raise funds to save our four-legged fiends.
The sausage sizzle at Kingscliff is one of many to raise money to save abandoned animals.
My Daily News caught "Paddy" with fellow volunteers Julie Eady and Jeff Trichter sporting the green.
Of course it was a coincidence, but the good sports still donned a silly St Patrick's Day hat for the cause.
Good on you, Friends of the Pound.
You are champions!
