Snowboarder dies after hitting tree

A SNOWBOARDER has been killed at Thredbo.

Just before noon today a man, aged in his 20s, was snowboarding near the top of Thredbo's Supertrail run when he slammed into a tree.

The Thredbo Ski Patrol took the man to an onsite medical centre but he died soon after.

The run will remain closed until police have finished their investigation.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
