Soccer trio for state titles
TRINITY Cooper, Josh Naspan and Daecian Sparkes-Young's football skills will come in handy when they learn to juggle their schooling with their new representative duties.
The three Mount St Patrick Primary School students have proved to be a cut above the rest on the grass pitch, earning a call-up to the under-12s Polding (Catholic schools) State Football team.
As such the talented trio are in Nowra this week contesting the State Carnival.
There they will put their best foot forward in the hope of being selected in the combined state side to play at the national titles.
“They've all trained really hard and are ready for action. We wish them the best of luck,” coach Ron Young said.
All three boys play in the Gold Coast Soccer competition: Trinity for the Murwillumbah under-12s, Josh for the Kingscliff under-12s and Daecian for the recently formed Tweed Valley Kings under-11s.
