Sorry, but you can't call your child Pieandsauce

IN AUSTRALIA, there are rules set out by state Births, Deaths and Marriages departments on what you can't name your baby.

The Registar can refuse to register a name if it is obscene, offensive or too long; cannot be established by repute or useage; if it contains symbols without phonetic significance, such as an exclamation or question mark or an official title or rank recognised in Australia such as King, Lady, Father, Sir or Admiral; or is contrary to public interest.

According to Scoopla, here is a list of names banned in Australia:

  • President
  • Jesus Christ
  • Bonghead
  • Ranga
  • Hitler
  • Ice-T
  • Thong
  • Chow Tow
  • Panties
  • #Rolf
  • Lol
  • Batman
  • Osama
  • Maryjuana

  • Spinach
  • Ned Kelly
  • Post Master General

  • Smelly
  • Lucifer
  • G-bang
