Soup night fundraiser at Potters Place

POTTERS Place Gallery will be alive on July 24 for its annual soup night.

Kicking off at 6.30pm, the evening is a fundraiser for the gallery which is hoping to purchase a new kiln and shelving.

From pumpkin and chicken to minestrone and Spanish, there will be a large array of homemade soups on offer made by members of the gallery.

And the best part, you get to keep the home made bowl you eat your soup in.

Member Mary Norris said a lot of work goes in to creating the clay bowls.

"Some bowls are carved, painted and glazed," she said.

"Wondrous techniques are used, and we have 137 bowls."

Mrs Norris said no soup is out of a tin and all are made fresh on the day.

She said there will be old fashioned sweets such as bread and butter custard and plenty more.

You can also purchase items from the gallery on the evening.

Numbers are limited and tickets are $25. Purchase your tickets from 37 Dawson Hwy before the evening.
