Mercurio's Menu of Gold Coast fare

THE spotlight is on the food, wine and beverage producers on the Gold Coast who will soon feature on popular food and travel show, Mercurio’s Menu.

The show, which features film and television star Paul Mercurio, recently wrapped up a week of filming around the Gold Coast.

“The coast has a wonderful food culture, starting from the dedicated and passionate producers to the retailers, the chefs and of course the food tourists,” said Mr Mercurio.

“I love the quality of the produce and the diversity of its use – whether it be easygoing Thai, Italian, Greek or Spanish, a hamburger by the beach or a high-class five-star degustation at one of the many great restaurants.”

Gold Coast Tourism CEO Martin Winter said securing the show was part of a wider strategy to attract visitors looking for a complete holiday experience.

“Dining opportunities to suit all tastes and budgets adds greater depth to the Gold Coast experience which allows us to broaden the scope of future trade and media activity.

“By highlighting the abundance and diversity of restaurants and eateries, complemented by the city’s thrill rides and attractions, assists to reinforce the Gold Coast as a year-round, holiday destination,” said Mr Winter.
