Starc difference between two sides in clash

MITCHELL Starc's dominance with the ball continued as New South Wales recorded another huge win in the Matador Cup, this time thrashing South Australia by 156 runs at North Sydney Oval.

The left-arm quick took 4-27 from 8.3 overs against the Redbacks who were all out for just 110 in reply to the Blues' 9-266 off their 50 overs. Starc's combined figures from his first two Matador Cup games this summer now read 10-52.

The No.2 one-day bowler in the world (pictured) made his mark instantly in the Redbacks' innings.

In-form opener Travis Head - who scored 202 against Western Australia on Monday - was bowled for a first-ball duck off a yorker, which Starc has made near-unplayable in recent times.

Earlier, Australian captain Steve Smith was the Blues' top-scorer with 72 from 83 balls. Queensland will face Victoria at Blacktown Oval today.
