STATE of Origin streaker Wati Holmwood says he wanted to see himself on television - but he's sorry he 'stuffed up Origin'.

Sydney's Daily Telegraph reports the 33-year-old appeared dazed and confused as he spoke after discharging himself - against medical advice - from Sydney's Auburn hospital.

"I'm sorry, I apologise about what happened, am I in trouble now?"

Yes. His mad dash is likely to cost him a lifelong exclusion from ANZ Stadium and a hefty fine.

"I just wanted to make it interesting but I stuffed up Origin. A lot of people hate me now."

When Mr Holmwood finally left hospital he was penniless and was forced to bum $10 from the Daily Telegraph reporter for a cab fare to the local train station.

News reports that in 2011 he was banned from drinking in public and from entering the Sydney Football Stadium after he jumped the fence during an NRL match between the Wests Tigers and the New Zealand Warriors.
