Stolen car parts found

TWO Pottsville men have been charged after parts from a burnt-out stolen car were found fitted to another vehicle.

A 2008-model turbo Ford Falcon was allegedly stolen from Murwillumbah on Monday and the $55,000 vehicle was found burnt out on Wardrop Valley Road at Murwillumbah the same day.

Three men were arrested from a Frenvale home.

The burnt-out car, a second vehicle allegedly fitted with the turbo-charger from the stolen Falcon and other car parts have been seized for scientific examination.

A 21-year-old Pottsville man was charged with damaging property by fire/explosive and driving while disqualified from holding a licence.

He appeared before Tweed Heads Local Court yesterday.

A 23-year-old Pottsville man was charged with damaging property by fire/explosive and was conditionally bailed to appear in Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday July 26.

A 28-year-old Fernvale man was released from custody pending further inquiries.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing and further arrests have not been ruled out.
