Stolen property recovered

POLICE recovered a large collection of stolen property from a Tweed caravan park on Thursday morning.

Tweed Heads police were called to the Colonial Caravan Park at Dry Dock Rd where they arrested a man and a woman.

Police seized tablet PCs, cameras, keys, a substantial amount of mail, numberplates, camping and satellite navigation equipment as well as personal identification.

Detective Acting Inspector Saul Wiseman said those arrested were a 26-year-old man and a woman aged 25.

They were charged with possession of stolen property outside the state and a number of other property related offences.

Detective Wiseman said police had identified some of the items as property stolen in Brisbane and Tweed Heads.

However, a number of items remained unidentified and police have produced a photo of the items to help identify the stolen goods.

If you have been the victim of a property crime and your possessions have not been found and returned, Detective Wiseman advised to check the Tweed Heads Police Facebook site where updated photos of stolen items would be shown.

Both the man and woman were refused bail and remanded in custody until they appear in Tweed Heads court on Friday.
