Storms hit hard on the coasts

THE Tweed and Gold Coast were battered on Saturday as a storm passed over the region.

Tweed residents shouldn't expect a return to sunny, hot days anytime soon with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting showers until at least Sunday.

The bureau said the cooler weather was also expected to stick around with a high tomorrow of 25C being the highest range for the week.

The dark clouds had more of a bark than a bite with no reports to rescue crews of any damage.
