Supermarket ram-raided to break out alleged thief

A SUPERMARKET in Logan City has been ram-raided in a bizarre attempt to break out a woman caught stealing.

Police said  a man drove his vehicle through the front of the Foodworks supermarket in Woodridge.

Initial information suggests that at around 8.50pm, a woman was inside a supermarket on Ewing Road when she was seen to be attempting to steal food.

A security officer has confronted the woman then locked the front doors to the store and called the police.

A man that was outside in a dark coloured car saw this, and drove the car into the front doors of the business.

The security guard was struck by a line of shopping trolleys, and was taken to hospital with injuries to his back and side.

The women then left through the damaged door and jumped into the car and it was last seen driving towards Wembley Road.

Investigations are continuing.
