Surf rage showdown lands man before magistrate

A MAN will front court after allegedly ramming his surfboard into the head of another man who tried to catch the same wave.

Police said the incident, which happened about 1.30pm on May 29 at Broken Head, left the victim with injuries to his face.

The attacker, a 29-year-old from Byron Bay, will appear in court on June 22 on charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
