Sweet sounds in Kingscliff

IT MAY have rained on the "parade" at Kingscliff on Thursday night, but it didn't dampen the spirits of a brave throng of songsters who attended the Carols by the Coast.

"The crowds were down on last year due to the weather," Kingscliff Lions Club secretary Glenys O'Brien said.

"But those who hung in there were fantastic.

"Several showers threatened to put an end to the festivities.

"Many just put up their brollies and stuck it out with a smile."

"They were in it for the long haul.

"They were fantastic."

Inimitable sweet sounds of Christmas carols rang out through the gloom and the Eveready candles shone on.
