Swift SA cricketer Dale Steyn to bowl for Brisbane Heat

THE world's No.1 fast bowler, South African Dale Steyn, will play one match for the Brisbane Heat in the T20 Big Bash League this summer.

Steyn will play in Brisbane's opening match of the competition against the Hobart Hurricanes at the Gabba on December 9.

He will fill in for West Indian paceman Kemar Roach who won't be available until the Heat's second match.

The South African played under Brisbane and Queensland coach Darren Lehmann with the Deccan Chargers franchise in the IPL last season.

Steyn has taken 287 Test wickets and holds the record for the shortest time to reach 100 Test wickets for South Africa.
