Buddy Holly Show back in town next weekend

TAKING the stage for 18 years is a testament to a great show. Buddy's Back - The Buddy Holly Tribute Show is back in town next weekend and performer Scot Robin is stoked.

"I'd say it's our 10th visit to Twin Towns," he said.

"We actually performed our first show there 18 years ago with a great reaction."

Robin said he never planned on dedicating his life to the loved musician, it just turned out that way.

"In 1992, I played Buddy Holly in a musical," he said.

"It was a massive hit in the West End and after I got my own show together.

"I didn't expect it to last this long."

He and saxophone player Joseph Kiss have been taking the stage together for the past 18 years.

"He's absolutely brilliant and often gets more of applause than me," Robin said. The other band members have been on board for the past five years.

"We get a massive reaction," he said.

"People love it and it is fun everywhere we go."

Tickets for the June 15 gig are $25 and are on sale now.
