Talented duo sell out concert

AYESHA Gough is no stranger to the music fans of Tyalgum village.

The former Murwillumbah girl, Queensland Conservatorium student and award-winning pianist returned to the village for an intimate, sold-out concert with operatic soprano Petah Chapman at Flutterbies Cottage Cafe on Saturday.

Gough, who has just been accepted into this year’s Sydney Piano Competition for the first time, played a breathtaking solo set, offering an explanation of the context of each piece.

After a brief interlude, Chapman, who is also studying at the conservatorium, joined Gough on stage for a moving performance.
