Tasty Tweed tantalises the senses

TASTE buds, prepare to be tantalised.

You are about to embark on a 10-day culinary journey from Kingscliff into the Tweed hinterland, taking in Asian flavours along the way.

Taste of Kingscliff and Tweed, from July 10 -19, will begin with evening cocktails and canapés at picturesque Babalou, Kingscliff.

The invitation event will welcome dignitaries, sponsors such as Scoot Airlines and guests, from Singapore chef Shen Tan to celebrity food blogger Maureen Ow.

Tweed's peak tourism body said the Taste Food Festival is aimed at locals and is also part of a lure for Singapore and Malaysian tourism.

"Bringing in the bloggers and chefs is about generating tonnes of exposure and marketing," Destination Tweed CEO Bill Thatchell said.

"Our events will gain credibility because Singaporean bloggers have massive followers," he said.

Ms Ow's Instagram has 27,000 followers and her blog Misstamchiak has a monthly viewership of 110,000.

Details about all the events of the Taste Food Festival are at kingscliffevents.com.au/taste-food-festival-10-day-program.
