Teacher says she can turn anyone into an artist
ANYONE can draw or paint, according to Kingscliff Art founder Gillian Grove.
And to prove her point she is offering art classes for beginners.
Her art school will offer a range of creative pursuits for all ages including drawing, watercolours, acrylic and oil painting.
Ms Grove said she had a passion for all things artistic and that is the reason she opened the school, in 2011.
Since then her classes have proved very popular, often being packed out.
"Art has become a wonderful hobby for many people who would not have normally considered themselves to be artists," she said.
"The classes have a wonderful balance of learning new skills, having fun and meeting new people."
Ms Grove said her classes were very social.
"They're great for those wanting to get out of the house and try something new," she said.
"Once you learn the process of what to look for, what materials to use and how to use them, drawing and painting becomes easy."
This year, a specialised water colourist will join the team of talented teachers.
Watercolour artist Denise Scott said she found her creative journey later in life and encouraged others to do the same.
"I've only been into painting for 12 years, it's something I fell in love with," she said.
Bookings are now open for term three with students having the choice between either days or evening classes.
