Teachers volunteer to chop locks

TEACHERS at Pottsville Beach Public School will shave their heads to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation today.

Assistant Principal Kathy Frost said six teachers were preparing to do the shave and were hoping for donations and sponsorship.

“It has been fairly well received. The kids have all been collecting money to donate, but if we can raise some more money that would be great,” Mrs Frost said.

“I know I’m going to miss my hair, but it will grow back.

“I chose to do this; people who lose their hair don’t have that choice.”

Juliet Green of the Saltbar Beachbar and Bistro said Mrs Frost was famous for her long black hair.

“Kathy has the most beautiful long black hair. This is not something just any woman would do, and I think it’s tremendously brave,” she said.

To sponsor the teachers contact the school on (07) 6676 1161.
