Teen charged after punching GC bus driver in the head

A BUS driver was punched in the head in a vicious attack by a young teen on Sunday night.

The 14-year-old boy was charged on Wednesday afternoon by police.

At about 11.45pm on Sunday a group of youths boarded a bus at the intersection of 27th Ave on the Gold Coast Hwy, Palm Beach.

Police will allege when the driver asked the youths to leave the bus, one of the males punched the 61-year-old in the head before walking off along the highway.

The teen will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
