Teen sustains serious burns in crash

A SIXTEEN year old male sustained burns to 10% of his body in an accident during a burn-off at Rowlands Creek today.

Rowlands Creek is situated south of Uki along Rowlands Creek Road.

NSW Ambulance responded to an 8.59am call and an ambulance and crew were on the scene within 10 minutes.

Paramedics treated the victim for pain and burns and stabilised his condition before transporting the youth by ambulance to Murwillumbah Hospital where he arrived at 10.15am.

A NSW ambulance spokesman said the youth sustained burns to his legs and abdomen.

His condition on arrival at the hospital was described as "serious".
