Teenager dies after two-car crash near Uki

A 15-year-old girl has died after a crash which killed her mother last week. 

Just before 1pm last Thursday, a Suzuki SX4 was travelling north along Kyogle Rd.

The car was was about 5km north of Uki when it collided with a Mazda Astina, which was travelling south. 

The cars collided head-on. 

The girl's 45-year-old mother, from Mount Gravatt, Queensland, died at the scene. 

The 15-year-old was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition. 

She died in hospital about 3am Wednesday. 

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.

The female driver of the Suzuki, and her four passengers aged between 3 and 15 years, were taken to hospital and have since been released.
