Look out! Stokes shows he’s ready ... if called

BEN Stokes has shared a video of himself bowling at full-tilt in the nets, showing he's ready to dive into the Ashes should he get a shock call.

The England all-rounder, 26, is currently banned after he was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm during a late-night brawl in Bristol.

But now, after the England and Wales Cricket Board appeared to soften their stance on a Stokes recall, Stokes has been working hard in the nets.

Stokes shared a clip on his Instagram account of him bowling off a full run-up - looking fully fit and raring to go should he be cleared of all charges by police.

He is set to learn his fate this week following September's scrap.

In the 28-second clip filmed at Durham's indoor base, Stokes captions his efforts "grafting" and "full run" as he unleashes a series of quick deliveries.

Should he be cleared of any wrongdoing, the ECB have suggested he could fly straight to Australia and make a sensational return, perhaps for the third Test in Perth in December.

Earlier this week, ECB chief executive officer Tom Harrison revealed Stokes could be fast-tracked for a return to the England set-up on the field.

"We will quickly recover to where the game is seen as doing its best to rehabilitate reputations on the field, and try to get Ben and Alex (Hales) back to where fans are really behind them," he said.
