THE disappearance of Carol Anderson still puzzles police and during the 25th anniversary of Missing Persons Week they're renewing their appeal for fresh information.

Mrs Anderson, 72, who was a dementia sufferer, went missing in Tweed Heads on November 11, 2011.

About 1.41pm  Mrs Anderson walked onto Dry Dock Rd, Tweed Heads.

About an hour later, she walked along Fraser Dr.

Mrs Anderson left her home while her husband was sleeping and was expected to return home but never did.

Later that year the SES and police conducted searches of the Tweed River but she was not found.

In the weeks following her disappearance police used the Marine Area Command (Drive Unit), Rescue Squad and SES to conduct both land and water searches in an attempt to locate her.

She is described as Caucasian appearance, 155 cm tall, medium build, with grey/brown shoulder length hair.

At the time of her disappearance, Mrs Anderson was wearing a long flowing white dress with shoestring straps.

This year's campaign focuses on people living with mental illness, because they are the group most at risk of going missing. 

The campaign message - see the signs before they disappear - encourages people to learn the potential warning signs that someone they know is not coping and to seek help.
