The Rock cooks up an action movie at Pines shop centre
HUNKY muscle guy "The Rock" has been spotted in Elanora while filming his latest Hollywood action flick San Andreas.
Dwayne Johnson, former WWF wrestler turned movie star, known for his roles in Fast and the Furious 6 and The Tooth Fairy, is playing a rescue helicopter pilot in the film, which follows the treacherous journey of hid family through a magnitude nine earthquake in California.
Warner Brothers Film studio is using The Pines Shopping Centre for a scene where a helicopter has crashed into a supermarke, and yesterday The Rock was photographed on set.
While no official sightseeing has been planned for the actor while he's locally based, the Tweed Daily News did suggest to the film's publicist, Amanda Brand, The Rock should follow in the famous foot steps of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who were rumoured to have visited Epic Skate in Tweed Heads.
"We have found that working here is amazing and the locals have been really nice," Ms Brand said.
The Rock is due on set today at Elanora and the film will continue to be shot on the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Los Angeles and San Francisco until mid-July.
San Andreas is slated to open in theatres on Friday, June 5, 2015.
