Missing seven-year-old boy found on the Gold Coast

A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD boy who went missing  on the Gold Coast has just been found about two kilometres from where he went missing.

Three amber alerts were issued for the boy overnight who was last seen at Joan Street around 4pm on Thursday.

He was last seen wearing a Southport State School uniform which is a light blue polo shirt, dark blue shorts and grey shoes.

A search was conducted last night involving the police helicopter, volunteers from the State Emergency Service and police without success.

Police continued to search the area into the morning.

Inspector Scott MacQueen told media the boy's discovery was a great result for police and the community.

He said the boy had been found as a result of people being out looking for him following media publicity over the amber alerts.

"It's a great result for police and the community.''

"It was (through) people made aware of the child through amber alerts.''
