Third Tweed location to get super fast internet revealed
CHILLINGHAM will be included in the latest stage of roll-out for the National Broadband Network (NBN).
The village will be the third Tweed area covered by the fixed wireless service being established by NBN Co.
NBN Co has announced that 4700 more premises would be connected to the national network through the latest stage, including 23 new fixed wireless installations in rural and regional NSW.
Information released by NBN Co said Seabreeze Estate at Pottsville is the first Tweed location to have the fixed wireless service available and work is underway to establish the service for the Casuarina town centre and Casuarina West.
Council GM Troy Green said high-speed internet would be integral to fostering economic growth in Tweed Shire, as well as a valuable tool in the personal lives of Tweed residents.
"Access to fast broadband will be invaluable for business ventures in the towns and villages of Tweed Shire, not just the larger centres," Mr Green said.
Residents are encouraged to visit nbnco.com.au/rollout/rollout-map to find out if their premise is included in the coverage footprint.
If so, they should contact their service provider to get connected.
