This cat can do more in one minute thaN you can

"I DON'T dress my cat up.”

Robert Dollwet, a seasoned Hollywood animal trainer now residing at Tweed Heads with his You Tube sensation cat Didga, has to draw the line somewhere.

His cat has just made the 2017 Guiness World Records book for the most tricks performed by a cat in one minute.

They are the first pair to earn themselves the title, with 20 tricks, well above the minimum of 10 tricks needed to receive the record.

Mr Dollwet has had Didga - a rescue cat - since she was 13-weeks-old and describes her as a determined, "super-smart” and confident animal.

Some of the tricks they perform together included a high five, wave, roll over and Didga jumping into Robert's hands. But the most famous trick this cat is known for is riding on her skateboard.

Mr Dollwet has commercialised the performances by setting up a home-based film studio, complete with green room, to produce regular videos.

Those titled such as 'Watch this CAT meet 50 dogs at a dog show' and 'World's best skateboarding cat' has garnered a combined 11 million hits.

"You Tube is a platform and then people contact you for licences for certain shows,” Mr Dollwet said.

In a career spanning 36 years Mr Dollwet has trained rats, chickens and other animals for Hollywood films as well as helped in the training of police dogs, but he said working closely with his own animals was more rewarding.

"The benefit of all this is it's drawing attention to the welfare of animals,” he said.

Mr Dollwet was "absolutely over the moon” to be included in the 2017 book and aims to beat the record next year.
