Three homemade bombs found on school grounds

THREE homemade bombs have been found on Mackay State High School oval this morning.

Police are currently at the school and are not allowing anyone within 100m of the devices, which are believed to have already detonated.

Police officers are currently waiting for an expert to remove the devices and are expected to be at the scene for several hours.

The discovery of three devices comes after a teenage boy was flown to Brisbane hospital with a severe hand injury after a homemade bomb exploded in his hand yesterday.

The home where it occurred in Milton St is located just around the corner from the school oval.
