Three including baby injured in Banora Point crashes

AN 18-month old girl was among three people injured in a two-car crash on the corner of Leisure and Fraser Drs in Banora Point.

The girl was transferred to Tweed Hospital along with a five-year-old boy and a woman in her 30s.

An Ambulance NSW spokesman said all three patients were in a stable condition after sustaining minor injuries about 5pm Wednesday.

The incident was the first of two car crashes in Banora Point in the last day.

Inspector Gary Cowan said police were called to a second incident on Leisure Dr on Thursday morning, involving a single Holden Commodore.

Insp Cowan said details of any charges over either incident are not yet known.

Acting Inspector Warwick Rhodes has urged motorists to be more cautious in the wet weather.

"People should just drive to the conditions of the road," Insp Rhodes said.

"When your windscreen wipers go on, 10km should come off your speed."
