Thugs run wild in Palm Beach with baseball bat
THUGS ran wild in Palm Beach on the weekend with three separate robberies and assaults.
On Friday, about 11.40pm, five people walking down Sarawak Ave were stopped by a group of males demanding cash and valuables.
The victims did not comply and an 18-year-old man was assaulted and robbed of his mobile phone.
Police said the man did not require medical assistance.
Less than two hours later, at 1.10am an 18-year-old man was assaulted by two males with a baseball bat in Thrower Dr.
He was transported to Tweed Hospital suffering cuts to his head.
A short time after that, at 2.50am, a 16-year-old boy was approached by a group of males near a bus stop in the Gold Coast Hwy.
Police said his mobile phone was stolen before he was assaulted with a wooden stick.
He was transported to John Flynn Private Hospital with minor injuries.
