Tiger flights uncertain for Gold Coast
TIGER Airways could not confirm today if it was reinstating flights to the Gold Coast Airport.
Civil Aviation Safety Authority suspended Tiger on July 2 for safety concerns, but lifted the grounding on August 10 after the airline changed it safety procedures.
Since lifting of the ban, Tiger had announced the return of the Melbourne-Sydney and Melbourne-Brisbane services.
A Tiger Airways spokeswoman said she couldn’t confirm if flights would return to the Gold Coast for commercial reasons.
“Historically the Gold Coast service is one of our most popular services year round,” the spokeswoman said.
“We are keen to reinstate our popular destinations.”
People visiting the airline’s website today were unable to book Gold Coast flights.
