Time to make up with Alisha
NOT everyone wears make up to be pretty.
Banora Point make-up artist Alisha Marshall can make you look awesomely gruesome if you like.
She's tested out her skills on her boyfriend and if the photos up around her home salon are anything to go by, the girl has talent.
She can make you look like you came off worse in a bar fight, or transform you into a dazzling bride, all with the wave of a brush.
After graduating with a diploma last year, Miss Marshall started getting her hands into anything she could.
Beauty is a competitive market, so she's not only doing make-up artistry and spray tans from her home salon, she's also getting training as a hair dresser.
"It is so competitive, there is just so many home salons and mobile businesses, not to mention all the people without diplomas offering their skills," Miss Marshall said.
"But I get work through friends of friends, do a lot of formals and make-up for special nights out, and lots of spray tans."
She said although it was common for people to skip getting a qualification, the training was invaluable.
"I've learnt so much, about the muscles of the face and so much more than you'd see on a YouTube video," she said.
"I thought it would be easy but there's a lot of theory."
Miss Marshall has her sights set on a position with industry leaders MAC and Napoleon.
