Titans size up Warriors forwards

IT all comes together this Sunday against the Warriors, and boy are we excited.

After a great pre-season we’re itching to go, particularly on home soil at Skilled Park.

There are two points on the line and we want them.

Carty has finalised the team and the combinations have been settled; now it’s up to us to put on a good show.

For the first couple of rounds the focus is always on defence and keeping teams at bay.

It will be particularly relevant against a big pack like the Warriors’ who also have some monster outside backs.

Tackling coach Trevor Gilmeister has been in his element this summer at training and hopefully we can transfer it to the field this weekend and limit their attacking options.

I am most looking forward to seeing how the relationship between Scott Prince and Greg Bird develops in the halves for us.

Princey always had the tremendous spark but was perhaps lacking a permanent partner last year.

Greg is a quality ball player and strong too so he can get away some great off-loads so I’ve been working hard on running good lines off his shoulder. We’ll see how that develops this week.

The Warriors are a little annoyed at our decision to wear our white “away” jerseys, meaning they have to wear black.

But they’re kidding themselves if they think we’re going to surrender one of our home field advantages.

I don’t think it will make that much difference and I’m sure they’ll return the favour anyway.
