Abbott visited Brisbane to be guest speaker at event

PRIME Minister Tony Abbott visited Brisbane briefly on Friday where he was the guest speaker at the Legacy Clubs of Australia National Conference.

At the conference, which was held at the Pullman Mercure Hotel, Mr Abbott paid tribute to tireless work and dedication shown by Legacy members across the nation.

"I salute you," he said.

Mr Abbott took the opportunity to express his sorrow and sympathy on behalf of the nation to people hurt by the New South Wales bush fires which are gripping the state.

"Australia is a country which is prone to natural disaster but every time it strikes, it hurts and we grieve for all of those who are now hurting because of what's happened in NSW," he said.
