Tragic reminder to take care

TWEED police want motorists to plan their trips after a tragic start to the holidays.

A six-year-old Armidale girl died in an accident on Kyogle Rd at Dum Dum when a car driven by her 63-year-old grandmother from Uki ran off the road and hit trees.

The accident happened a day after four people were hospitalised when two cars collided on Tweed Valley Way at Condong.

Tweed police Inspector Gary Cowan said it was a bad start to the holiday season and motorists needed to take care.
