Triathlon boasts record numbers

ORGANISERS are ready to host record numbers of competitors at the Kingscliff Triathlon this weekend.

Entries closed earlier this week for the event on Sunday with 673 registered for the main events and about 100 for Saturday's social ride and fun run.

Organiser Kristina Katsanevas said the numbers had increased from the last triathlon in September.

"In September we had 550-600 people," Ms Katsanevas said.

Ms Katsanevas said organisers were hopeful of a fine weekend for the triathlon.

"It's always sunny for events I'm involved with," she quipped.

The Kingscliff Triathlon starts Sunday morning with registrations at 5.45am (NSW). The social ride on Saturday starts at 7.30am and the fun run at 9am from the community hall in Marine Pde.
