YOU may have noticed that, these days, there's a hair product for everything.

Yes, it's no longer just shampoo and conditioner and then spray the life out of it.

There's hair masques, fixers, shapers, root control products, volumisers and more.

"No matter what your hair or scalp type, or need, there's a product for you," says Jodie McRae, of Price Attack.

"There's products that can help stimulate hair growth, ones that help keep colour in hair last longer, heat protectants that you can use before curling or straightening, and cleansing shampoos that will remove product build up or chlorine."

Tired of locks that hang limp and lifeless?

Start with a hair shampoo and conditioner developed especially to give volume to hair, suggests Price Attack.

While it is important to ensure your hair is well-moisturised, products that are really heavy can weigh down hair and no amount of velcro rollers will rescue it from flatness.

Instead try nak body.n.shine hair shampoo and conditioner, which uses aquatic minerals to energise hair and impart shine.

Redken's Carbo-Bodifier is absolutely unbeatable for fattening up even the finest of hair.

Oily hair?

According to Price Attack, a clarifying shampoo like Paul Mitchell Shampoo used once a fortnight will help.

Once your hair and scalp is cleansed, choose a gentle shampoo formulated specifically for oily hair to maintain and regulate the oil levels on your scalp and hair.

Try De Lorenzo Control Shampoo and follow with the conditioner, avoiding the root area.

Dry hair is frizzy hair. The Wella System Professional Enrich line uses ultra-luxurious cashmere extract for intense hair smoothness and hydration.

Fine hair gets weighed down very easily and can then look limp and lifeless, says Price Attack.

Start fighting flat hair with a body building shampoo and conditioner.

Try the Redken Body Full range which contains carbohydrates to plump up skinny hair. When it comes to styling, use products sparingly to ensure your fine hair isn't overburdened.

Applying Paul Mitchell Thicken Up hair product prior to blow-drying and a spritz of Paul Mitchell Daily Boost Root Lifter hair product will add extra oomph.

"There is a big difference between a supermarket and a professional product," says Jodie.

"With the salon product, you'll use less and get better results."
