THE cavalry is not coming, but three foot-soldiers are on the way to help the injury-hit Wallabies take on the all-conquering All Blacks in the final Bledisloe Cup match for 2012 in Brisbane on Saturday.
The likes of James Horwill, Will Genia and David Pocock are still injured, but prop Sekope Kepu (knee), No.8 Wycliff Palu (shoulder) and winger Drew Mitchell (ankle) have all been named in the 30-man squad.
Kepu and Mitchell both played early matches in the recent Rugby Championship, while Palu has had a horror run, managing just two Tests - against Ireland and the United States last year - since the 2009 Grand Slam tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland.
In some more good news for beleagured coach Robbie Deans, utility Adam Ashley-Cooper, forced to miss last weekend's tough 25-19 win over Argentina in Rosario due to concussion, has also been cleared to resume.
The Kiwis, who went through the Rugby Championship unbeaten, are on a 16-match winning streak and will be determined to make it 17 at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.
The Wallabies were the last team to defeat the All Blacks, winning 25-20 in Brisbane 12 months ago to clinch the Tri Nations title.
