Truck overturned on Pacific Hwy

FATIGUE is believed to be a major factor in a furniture van overturning on the Pacific Hwy this morning.

Luckily the driver and the passenger walked away from the single vehicle accident at with only minor injuries.

The driver injured his shoulder while the passenger suffred lacerations to the head. Both were taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus for treatment.

The removalist truck full of furniture ended up on its roof in the median section of undivided road between South Boambee Rd and Bruce King Dr.

Early reports suggest the vehicle veered to the left hand side of the road before the driver over corrected to right the truck's path path.

This action caused the load in the back to shift knocking the truck off balance.

A heavy towing vehicle began a salvage operation at 8am with traffic in both directions being affected.

Some belongings from inside the vehicle were thrown 20 to 30 metres across parts of the highway.

To make matters worse at the scene, two vehicles had a slight accident as they passed by.
