Tumbulgum residents have only days left for flood claims

TUMBULGUM residents affected by the Australia Day flood have until August 15 to lodge a claim for an Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment.

Attorney-General and Minister for Emergency Management Mark Dreyfus QC said while many people have already made applications, there may be eligible residents yet to lodge an assistance claim.

More than 14,000 disaster recovery payments have already been made to date to residents affected by the NSW Floods, totalling over $17 million in assistance.

The one-off payment comprises $1,000 for eligible adults and $400 for each eligible child in declared Local Government Areas. Some Tumbulgum residents claimed the flood was the worst in three decades.
