Channel 10 show boosts call numbers for Martinez and Barnett

SINCE Robert Martinez and Chantal Barnett's case went nationwide on Monday, police have received a number of Crime Stoppers calls.

Rockhampton Inspector Darrin Shadlow said police had received 12 calls, up to yesterday afternoon, since Robert and Chantal's murder investigation went to air on Channel Ten police program Wanted on Monday. That was a significant trend upward, Insp Shadlow said.

He confirmed yesterday investigating officers had spoken to people outside the Rockhampton region, including ex-pat residents linked to Robert and Chantal who had moved to other towns, cities and states.

He said police were following up on the calls that had gone through to Crime Stoppers in the past two days.

More than 230 people have been interviewed since the pair went missing in early March.

Rockhampton CIB boss Scott Moon on Tuesday delivered an ultimatum to the public asking those who knew exactly what happened to Robert and Chantal to "be brave like the Martinez and Barnett families" and come forward to police.

He said the family simply wanted to have closure.

On Tuesday, police announced the team investigating Robert and Chantal's disappearance had exhausted all their "proof of life" options and were treating the case as a double murder.

If you have information about Robert and Chantal's disappearance, call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
