Rock star status for baby Diesel
TWEED Hospital welcomed a rock star baby, or at least a rock star name, into the world last weekend.
Diesel Robertson was born to Rachael Komel and Ben Robertson.
The family did not have the five-time ARIA winner’s name on the “Tip of their Tongue” but Miss Komel admitted to being a Diesel fan.
“I have always liked Diesel because of the singer but we chose it because it was a strong boy’s name,” Miss Komel said.
The southern Gold Coast couple considered other strong names such as Jet before deciding on Diesel.
Miss Komel is a fan of the singer and has always wanted to go to one of his shows.
“I missed him the last time he was here,” she said.
Although Ben Robertson does not consider himself a huge Diesel fan, he admitted to enjoying some of his music.
Diesel Bruce Robertson was delivered three weeks early and his middle name was chosen after his grandfather.
Although the healthy baby has no other musical relatives his two-year-old brother Cooper loved music, his mother said.
Diesel, the singer, will be performing at the Lone Star Tavern in the Gold Coast on Saturday May 21.
“I will have to keep that show in mind,” Miss Komel laughed.
