THE Tweed Border 1 team claimed win at the under-15 Girls State hockey Championships at Ipswich last week.

The Tweed Border 1 team faced Cairns 1 in the final's decider to win 3-2 after facing 10 other teams in Division 1 of the round robin competition.

Teams from Atherton, Brisbane, Cairns, Gladstone, Gold Coast, Gympie, Hervey Bay, Ipswich Mackay, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Townsville and Warwick, as well as Tweed Border competed at the Championships.

The under-15 girls Tweed Border 2 team placed fifth in their Division 2 competition, while the Queensland under-15 Men's State Championships saw the Tweed Border's under-15 boy's team place 11th.
