Tweed Coast Raiders' star claims top honour
TWEED Coast Raiders star Oscar Clarke claimed a double at the Group 18 Junior Rugby League representative awards ceremony.
Clarke was named Representative Player of the Year and also claimed the Most Consistent award in the under-16 age division at the presentation night at Cudgen Leagues Club last month.
The talented forward was one of four Group 18 players named in the East Coast Dolphins under-16 side that contested the Country Rugby League Championships.
Cudgen duo Ethan Kane and Ryan Steidam and South Tweed forward Brenton Daley-Holton also made the Dolphins side after impressing for Tweed Byron Group 18 in a series of trial matches against teams from Groups 1, 2 and 3.
The Dolphins then made a splash in the championships, advancing to the semi-finals before going down 28-8 to Western Rams.
Tweed Byron Group 18 representative teams also enjoyed success in the under 14 and under 15 divisions, making the semi-finals of the Country Championships played at Forster.
Bilambil's Josh Bevan was named Most Consistent in the under-14 age division while South Tweed's Keam Clothier clamed the award in the under-15 division.

Under 15: Most Consistent: Keam Clothier (South Tweed); Most Consistent Back: Connor Wallace (Byron Bay Lennox Head); Most Consistent Forward: Jordan Tauali'i (Tweed Heads); Coaches Award: Zac Hicks (South Tweed).
Under 16: Most Consistent: Oscar Clarke (Tweed Coast); Most Consistent Back: Ethan Kane (Cudgen); Most Consistent Forward: Ryan Steidam (Cudgen); Coaches Award: Joe Shaw (Bilambil).
