Fire closes Tweed Coast Road

A BUSHFIRE has caused the closure of the Tweed Coast Road between Cudgen Rd and The Coast Rd on the Far North Coast of NSW this morning.

NSW Rural Fire Service volunteers are fighting the blaze which is burning out-of-control in 95 hectares of coastal scrub to the west of Casuarina.

Police have put diversions in place.

Southbound traffic is being diverted at Plantation Road,and northbound traffic at Dianella Road.

There is no threat to life or property at this stage.
