Tweed fans get ready for AFL grand final

THE adrenaline is pumping the nerves are setting in and that is just for the supporters for this weekend's AFL grand final.

The purple-clad Fremantle fans will be out to watch their team in their first grand final while the harden Hawthorn fans want their team to make up for the loss in last year's main event.

Former Coolangatta blues player David Hale will be lining up for the Hawthorn football club and will have plenty of family and friends in the Tweed cheering him on.

The Coolangatta Hotel will again be the place to watch the big event with 32 plasma TVs and 2 huge screens for footy fans keen to get out of the house and absorb some of the grand final atmosphere.

"We will have AFL promo girls, half time games and after the game 2 bands and a DJ," Coolangatta Hotel, food and beverage manager Shauna Hillenbrand said.

And when asked for a tip for the big game.

"Fremantle will win by 8 points."

Finishing the AFL weekend off will be the Cat Empire on Sunday night.
